vern
Hey Fishgun! Read through some of the old threads in the Minnesota River & Red River Forums & the Catfish Forum which you are in now. There is a ton of great info already posted here for the new catfisherman. Here's one tip to get you started: Dip baits, stinkbaits, nightcrawlers etc. normally catch the small channel cats. The big channel cats like fresh cutbait - which is chunked or filleted suckers, chubs or goldeye. Flathead catfish prefer big live baits like suckers, creek chubs or bullheads. Good luck, Vern

Fisher Dave
fishgun ...The guy to try to get a reply out of would be Turk on the St. Croix info. If anyone knows whats going on as of recent, he is one of the few.I used to fish the St Croix in stillwater and on the cheesehead side of the river near the lift bridge for catfish .. I USED to do pretty well on channels and an occasional flathead, but I havent been there for years fishing the shoreline... so I'm about useless. Its definately worth a try. Fisher Dave
Ok .. middle of the night .. coffee is wearing off ... The Sucka ( new moderator ) is the one who has been on the water most for what it seems. He seems to be very strait forward and the info seems honest and accurate... see what he has to say on the St. Croix forum.
