Hey Guys...

I have a mr heater/cooker that I have always set up on the ice in my Otter Lodge. Has anybody ever put the hearter on a bucket or box a few feet of the ground? I am sick of the puddle on the ice and it seems like I am wasting heat melting snow and ice near my holes....

I'm new to the portable sled idea and Big Buddy heater. I was planning on putting it on a door mat. These would be heavy duty mats. Anyone who has a Big Buddy heater ever try that idea or something on that order?

I always set my Mr.Heater Cooker on the ground. If I get a puddle started I put some cardboard under it. It works better on the ground as far as keeping your feet warm and just seems to keep the house warmer overall and holes open better. I never set a heater up on anything. If it falls it will break or even worse burn a hole in your house when your out talking or taking care of the bladder.

I actually made a little stand outta plywood that the heater can sit on top of and my marcum sits on the bottom. Heaters off the ice and saves space in my fish trap guide for feet or hole or whatever. I put velcro on it to hold the heater on so it doesnt slide off to the side, but you can pull it off for transport
