13 days till the Minnesota opener.

This gun season is going to especially cool for a couple reasons.

1) I have not been able to bow hunt at all this year due to

2) My brother is coming home on leave from Iraq for deer season.

I can't wait.

Anything cool with the rest of you, kids first year or anything like that?

My 12 year old daughter drew the St. Croix youth hunt, which is this Saturday. Since I'll be flying her in from Utah, the hunt is going to cost me about $800 (flight, gear, hotel, food). Can anyone think of a better way to spend 800 bucks?

How about the taxidermy bill for getting the big buck she shoots mounted? grin.gif

I've got a 3yr old boy that, in this past year, really got into the fish and ducks that I brought home. Last year he didn't get to come to "deer camp" (grandparent's house) because he and his sister (my 1yr old daughter) were both sick and stayed home with mom.

This year I'm hoping that everyone is healthy so that he and my daughter can get a good up close and personal look at a deer that hopefully "dad" shoots. wink.gif
