guppie
Yeah, interesting. But I did not fill out any survey telling an exact number of birds I shot last year and where?

verg
those numbers more accuratley portray the number of hunters i think. The more hunters the more birds harvested. Remind me not to hunt california.
KatoMike
I don't think it is number of hunters, there is no way there are over half a million duck hunters in MN. Minnesota has been averaging about 120,000 duck hunters per year. The all-time high was 1971 when there were 161,000 hunters.
verg
Just because Minn. harvested 1/2 million birds doesn't mean a 1/2 million hunters. You are allowed to shoot more than one duck in minnesota right? 120,000 is a lot of waterfowlers. SD and ND probably has as many or more birds than minn. (guessing) anyway SD isn't even on list and ND is low. That is because of much lower hunter numbers. I'm not expert on numbers but it seems pretty logical. Rost
Yep, if MN harvested 531,000 ducks and there are 120,000 hunters, that means each hunter shot less than 5 ducks last season. The California stats are interesting. Heck, I'm suprised they havn't banned hunting yet!
