Coleman
How many of you guys have been to the Red River fishing for cats? How many of you guys have fished up by the selkirk **** in Man. Canada? I was up there about a year ago, and was curious how the fishing is up there. Last time I fished with Stu Mc Kay(spelling). Thanks

vern
Hey Coleman! I was up there a year and a half ago(May 2000). We put the boat in at Stu's place and caught 20lb+ fish all day long. These fish were huge! I caught one in the upper 20's. We caught goldeye right off of the dock to use for bait. When you ran out of bait, you just went back to the dock to catch more. The sheepshead were huge too. Very fun trip. I can't wait to get back up there. How did you do with Stu? Vern
Coleman
Both times I was up there, we had Stu help us out. We had a awesome time with him. We caught probably 60 that were 12+ pounders, in a 8 hour period. The first time I was there we didnt catch as many fish, but we caught larger fish. I caught one that was about 35 pounds. It took me like 30 mintues to get it in, even with the heavy tackle he has. And like you said, you catch your own bait, which was really fun to me. We caught the goodeneyes, in Stu's boat, which was fun. I think we are going back up there next spring. I cant wait.
