picksbigwagon
I would post this in the free section, but I think this is a better forum. I have my old (late 80's) road bike in the twin cities, my dad wouldn't pitch it, my wife can't understand why I brought it home, anyway, it is a schwinn traveler, 27 or 28" frame, one of the largest frames they make. I am 6'7" and it fit me well. I am offering this FREE to anyone who can put it to use or find a good home for it. I have a mountain bike (24" frame by the way ) so I don't need or want it. It has suntour components that are shot, the rims are good, set up as a 12 speed. standard pedals, my dad took off the toe clips. Chromoly frame, light bike, minty green by the way too. I put a lot of miles on it in college, and everything worked well 15 years ago. Of course I think now you would want to put on a new hub and rear derailer, etc. Contact me at: [email protected] what I think it needs is: new derailer new cables re wrap the handlbars new tires, not rims, just tires probably a new rear hub, it won't free spin going backwards, feels pretty gunky in there New seat too, it is old and not too comfortable either great winter project
picksbigwagon
TTTMy wife wants me to pitch the thing, but I know how hard it is to find a larger than average frame for a road bike or touring bike....would be great on a RAGBRAI Trip.....
