road bike frame ( free to a good home)

Recommended Posts

I would post this in the free section, but I think this is a better forum. I have my old (late 80's) road bike in the twin cities, my dad wouldn't pitch it, my wife can't understand why I brought it home, anyway, it is a schwinn traveler, 27 or 28" frame, one of the largest frames they make. I am 6'7" and it fit me well.

I am offering this FREE to anyone who can put it to use or find a good home for it. I have a mountain bike (24" frame by the way smile.gif) so I don't need or want it. It has suntour components that are shot, the rims are good, set up as a 12 speed. standard pedals, my dad took off the toe clips.

Chromoly frame, light bike, minty green by the way too. I put a lot of miles on it in college, and everything worked well 15 years ago. Of course I think now you would want to put on a new hub and rear derailer, etc. Contact me at:

[email protected]

what I think it needs is:

new derailer

new cables

re wrap the handlbars

new tires, not rims, just tires

probably a new rear hub, it won't free spin going backwards, feels pretty gunky in there

New seat too, it is old and not too comfortable either

great winter project
