hanson
Anybody ever tried flagging geese while on water?A couple of the spots we hunt, we wade around in the rushes/cattails and then duck into the cattails when birds are around.I just got to thinking that flagging may be beneficial in a situation like this. You could either use a regular goose flag or get one on a longer handle like an extendable push pole handle. This is our first fall really hunting geese on the water, finally got enough dekes to turn some heads up in the sky.Good idea? Bad idea?
Ray Esboldt
Chris,We've been doing it for a number of years on the water. I think we started with a black shirt and have since graduated to kites. The only problem with it is when you get them wet, and everything gets wet duck hunting. They don't look very good then, sunny days in particular. They're good for turning distant larger flocks. It doesn't neccesarily mean you'll land them. However, they are lethal on small groups and singles. It's worth a try.
