ND results...

Haven't heard much on ND reports? We are heading there in 3 weeks. Sounds like we are going a day early to do some scouting and to make sure our spots still have water in them... laugh.gif

ND report, we POUNDED the birds.

Seen more birds on one slough than I ever have in my life.

They got up to stretch there wings and they cast a shadow on us. UNREAL to say the least.

Just remember if you are going the week of Oct. 16th-20th that you must be on private land due to the resident pheasant opener week.

We have our spots lined up on private land for that week.

ND residents are some of the nicest people I have ever met.

Lots of geese in the area. Didn't spen much time after them, we where there for the duck hunting mainly.

We will pound the geese when we go back on the 19th.

Sounds fun...!! I have been going to ND for 5 years now and it's just amazing how many birds you see/shot. I live in southern MN and there aren't a ton of birds in the area. I'm counting the days!! Hopefully are go-to spots are still wet.

I think it depends on where in ND you are headed. We've gone to North Central part for many years and from what I hear from reports, we'll have our work cut out just finding some water to hunt. We like to hunt small sloughs and the info I get is they are pretty much dried up. Some life-long locals have told me they have seen sloughs dry that the've never seen dry before.

Anyone have any first hand reports that are any different?

I would agree with you, I am originally from ND and most my friends are still there and I was going to make a special waterfowl trip, but this is like the mid - late 80's. Tough, guys give it 5-8 years and the cycle will come back and then....HAMMER TIME....I miss those good ol days
