Sunday afternoon I passed on the Vikings and went out to a lake I like to fish for bass in. It is up near Mille Lacs, it is small and weedy. The water temp was 58 and it was cool and breezy (high pressure cold front)

I couldn't find any in the lilly pads or old reeds, I couldn't find any on the edge of the weeds or the deep break.

I caught about a dozen small ones slow rolling a spinner in a muddy bottom weed chocked north end bay. They were biting light and I missed quite a few as well.

I don't spend a lot of time bass fishing, but I think I did ok for the conditions.

what would you have done?

Well i myself have been there many times so my qualifications to answer this post are lacking. But when i find the bite to be tough i usally downsize and slowdown. i heard it said once that if you think you are fishing slow enough go slower. Also if they are just nipping a spinner bait that usaully means they really don't want it all that badly and although you can catch some still on it i will look for a different approach and try to find what they are inhaling. ike
