SD Duck opener Pics...

I'd bet a lot of you MN boys are chomping at the bit for next weekend!! We had our duck opener this weekend. We hunted a field loaded with ducks...only problem was we had about 1.5 inches of rain Friday night and Saturday. Carrying decoys out and back was miserable! OMG what a mess it was. It was a blast!!

Saturday we ended up with 11 wood ducks (one banded woody!) and 15 mallards plus 2 bonus honks... Notice the mud!!

Sunday was much more pleasant. Sunny and not near as muddy. Ended with 11 honks and 15 mallards.

Just rub it in why don't ya! Just kidding Rost, looks like you guys had a great time. I am looking forward to next weekend, I finally get to go out and bust some honkers again, and maybe a few mallards mixed in with the bunch too. It should be a blast.

Ahhhh the days of old....years gone by...it's nice to be reminded what they used to look like!

Here are a few from my opening week that a couple of us got in to. I guess I wont complain if I dont have to hunt water for a while. What a BATTLE trying to pick out drakes field huntin this time of year. There was only a couple flocks that we shot more than one bird out of all week.
