Legend Ice Rod...24" Medium

Anyone have a St. Croix Legend 24" medium weight? What's your opinion of it for walleye/cats? Can anyone out there compare it to the 28" medium weight Thorne Bros rods?

What the spring bobber gives you is an option to use the Legend as a minnow rod by simply pushing the spring forward through the rubber grommet. This gives the spring more flexiblity. Either the bobber will suddenly quit moving, or when you give a subtle lift it will stay down and you will know when to set the hook. To get that type of feel in a TB rod, you would have to look at the Deadstick series. I know some guys have been using the Legends with their spoons and smaller swim jigs, but for that presentation I would prefer the standard medium rod.

Question boils down to what method you prefer to fish for walleye. Good Luck.

I would use a ML or M. You will be ok with either one. Just make sure that you have the right spring for the lure you are useing and get ready to catch a bunch of fish!!!
