NADA guides value

beer batter

Question

I'm trying to find the approx value of a 1985 Palm Beach 24 foot pontoon. I checked Nada guides, but for whatever reason they only go back to 1994 (Palm Beach Marinecraft) or 1999 (Palm Beach Boats).

Is there another place I can find an appraisal for used boats that go back a few more years?

Greetings,

Not that I know of. I would just find a company that makes comparable PTs and see if thier's go back that far on Nada.

Remember, NADA, KBB, Edmunds are all types of tools for bankers and to meet bankers lending to/against numbers. They are great for a ball park figure. But they are NOT consumer tools.

For example, KBB gives different prices:

Dealer (bank value to lend on)

Trade in (bank value to lend on)

Private party (bank value to lend on)

These are all values for the bank. Not for the consumer. So, as a buyer, be very careful about working from those angles. They are dealer and bank tools to get the most money for it or to get the most loan value out of it.

Have you tried doing yahoo searches on the boat simply to come up with any used prices? I have a bunch of Used and New buy/sell links for boats on my web page. May be of help.

Peace and Blessings

I've done all the things you've suggested and have come up with a pretty good ball park figure. It's much easier to just have a sight that shows all the stuff you're looking for, and click on the individual features to see what kind of value each adds to the overall product.

Greetings,

I agree, however, NADA is not that useful for me too much of the time. Try to get a price on a loaded fishing boat. It only gives you about 3 fishing options. Then go over to the motors. I don't even know which motor I want when looking for say a 60 hp motor and NADA does not explaine and trying to find info at Merc or Rude, for example, is even worse.

Peace and Blessings
