Dog lake

Anyone fished dog lake recently and can give any reports on how the fishing is..?

Can't help too much now, but it was pretty good in July. No big ones though.

The water level was about average, not real low like a few years ago.

Dogtooth Lake just south of Kenora is down at least 2 feet. Case in point is channel from Dogtooth to Kilvert Lake. I could not get my Crestliner 1750 Sportfish w/ 3 people upstream. 2 other boats di make it by pulling and dragging. Fishing was average at best. Front had gone through on the 7th of Sept and turned Walleye bite off. 1st time on lake but one group has been fishing for 10+yrs and they were disappointed with the slow fishing. Marked fish in 30-35 ft but no go. We fished area below Dogtooth Lake Resork and Rushng River. Case in Point,barely a trickle coming from the falls that cross Hwy 71. Need to stay away from points and cut speed if you are not familiar with the lake.

actually it's dog lake just west of Thunder bay I was inquiring about.

Yep, that's the one I mean too.

We are thinking fall trip next year, post how you did if you go up there. Should be running their moose hunts now.
