grouse hunting by Voyegeurs

I will be fishing on Kabetogama on 26th, but I thought I would bring my shotgut. Do any of you know where a guy could do that? I hear the grouse is up this year and would like to take a day and go out.

There are few forest roads that you can hunt from between The Gateway Store & Orr. Townline & SheepRanch have been pretty good for us over the years. Just head back into one of the forest roads, find a few walking trails & give it a try. Let me know how you do. I'm heading up the 1st full weekend in Oct.

Get yourself either a PRIM map or the Minnesota Gazetter (sp?). They show forest roads and public hunting areas.

Just got back from there yesterday and you heard right, the grouse hunting is pretty good this year. I agree with JKing and Back Bay. Sheep Ranch road runs forever and connects with several other roads and unnamed/numbered logging trails. If your not familar with the area you should have a map to find your way around back there.
