Winterizing an IO

I was wondering if anyone could give me instructions for winterizing an IO? I have a 1997 Alpha 1 5.7 liter Mercruiser. I just paid over $300 to have it winterized. Is this something the average guy can do himself? Is there a lot of tools or machinery needed to do this? I know how to sabilize fuel but would need instruction in flushing or draining the motor and also changing of the oil and fogging the engine along with anything else that needs to be done. Any help would be appreciated.

I also need help on picking out a stainless steele prop for this motor. What prop would you recommend? Model number and make would be helpful.
