Need Shell Lake advice

Recommended Posts

Headed to the shell lake area for labor day weekend!! I'm looking for some help on walleye, pike and panfish. Where can i find them and what techniques are being used to catch them? This will be my second time out on this lake in as many years. I do plan on starting to fish it more though, so if someone would please get me headed in the right direction to catch some good eatin fish it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

I've always fished Shell in May, but I've talked to plenty of the old regulars there. From what I've heard, the cribs are gonna be the place for bluegill, crappies, and also a mix of smallies and walleyes this time of year. Lots of them for sure on the west side of the lake out from town and on the southwest shoreline between town and south bay. For the pike, south bay should be all you need, there's a ton of smallish pike in there. We always hammer them on slip bobbers and big fatheads or small suckers, but again that was in May. Good luck and for sure give us a report.
