Grindstone

i personally haven't fished it but know people who have. It can be a good lake for lakers and stream trout and is very rich in smelt. I know that this time of year you would probally have to get deep with riggers, dipsies, or lead, but towards the end of the season the fish will be moving in shallower and easier to targer with "everyday gear". Sorry I couldn't help more, hopefully theres someone on here that has actually fished it before.

I do very well on grindstone but only during the ice season. Ive tried during summer but the trout are deep and tought to catch. In the winter the best action is in about 5 ft of water on the south end. Most of them are rainbows with the occasional small laker but did manage to catch a 21 inch browm 2 years ago....and cant forget about the rat that came up the hole in the fish house!! Scared the dump out of us!!!!!!

Good Luck!

There are 3 crappie cribs in the lake, the boat launch is/was(when I was there last)very shallow and narrow. you launch in almost a creek type backwater. Trolling 2ways/3ways also works if you have no means to get the lures down deep. Mabye try a flutter spoon and a 2-5oz sinker trolled very slowly, as its doesnt take much movement to flutter these spoons. Bring a depth finder and good map for sure.
