JohnMickish
Of all the drivers that changed rides so far this year who is the best? Mayfield, Sadler, Jarret, Vickers or Mears.Jarrets past is by far the best but that's the problem, it's in the past. The other four are under achievers in my opinion. So who would you choose (out of these five drivers) to drive your car next year?
lawdog
I'd say Vickers has the most potential only due to his Busch Championship, but then again Mayfield's been in the chase twice already so at this time, he's probably the best. DJ definitely was at one time, but I think that time has past. Sadler Question Mark on him and Mears BIGGER question marks and more of them, but possibly more upside potential too... JohnMickish
Remember that Vickers backed into the championship. I can't remember exactly what happened but there where some cars ahead of him in points going into the last race and they ran into trouble, handing the championship to Vickers. harvey lee
I dont believe you back into a championship as you have to be in a position when racing to have a shot and he was there. Its a long season doing battle and if you are in a spot to have a chance I dont believe thats backing in . I know that the phrase is used many times but you have to be there almost like the lucky dog.A guy running bad cannot back in.
JohnMickish
You are absolutly right and maybe I chose the wrong words. To be in the position to win the championship you must have talent. But then again, winning a race, championship or pool game because the other guy lost the race, championship or pool game it isn't quite the same as going out and flat out winning it yourself, without help from the racing gods. Lee, who would you put in your car out of those five?
harvey lee
Probably Vickers and just maybe Mears in a close second.Or, now that I think about it just maybe Sr's grandchild. I will agree to disagree on the above post.If your are running second and the leader spins out,has motor failure or such then that would not be backing in.Now,if the guy blows a tire on the last turn then I would agree that the racing gods were looking down on you.But you still have to be good enough to put yourself in that position if something does happen. Kinda like which came first, the chicken or the egg?
NAPAFISH
Is that kind of like Cope winning the
Sifty
I would say that Vickers has the most upside Mears would be second. Sadler should be some what better then he has shown. Then Mayfield and finishing out would be Jarret.Sifty
