Kayaking Lake Superior

Anyone kayaked Lake Superior? A neighbor and I are thinking about kayaking the North Shore for a three day weekend in early September.

We haven't done much research. I did stumble across some info the MN DNR's HSOforum. I think it was referred to as Superior Water Trail (or something like that).

We are thinking of putting in around Two Harbors. We still need to find rental kayaks and possibly a shuttle. We would also need to map out the voyage so we have places to camp and so forth.

Can be an awesome trip if the weather cooperates, but if it

doesn`t . Can prove deadly.

Very true Jim. Just looking out at the past two days and the waves have definately not been cooperating.

You may want to look at going to the Apostle Island State Park on the south shore. Kayak Rentals, Tours, and island campsites everywhere. Look it up, its much more scenic on that side.
