Clicker broke

Can a person fix the clicker on a 6500 or does one need to send it in to Abu? Not much good without it for cat fishing.I will say that I am not a reel repair person. The reel is 5 months old.

5 months old? I'd be tempted to send it to them just so I didn't have to pay to fix it, but then again, I've been burned by them and more than likely shipping charges will be more than the part itself.

If you'd like, e-mail me (it's in my profile) and I can send you a site that has step-by-step instructions with photos for a complete teardown of Abu reels. The clicker mechanism is actually very easy to get at and you won't have to take much apart.

Could you by chance send me that site to, I have the same reel with the same problem, clicker went out on me 2 weeks ago. Since then it's been strictly a circle hook reel.. and i'm not a big circle hook fan, i like to set the hook too much

I can't know which reel you have but I can supply you with schematics to all Abu reels

I sent this reel into Abu Garcia in Spirit Lake, Iowa and they repaired it and sent it back to me repaired and updated.It took 5 days including the weekend and shipping to and fro.That my friends is real customer service.
