Devils Lake walleye fishing

Recommended Posts

How has the bite been lately for walleyes? Will be going to Devils Lake for the day on Thursday and was wondering if any locations were producing more than others.

Thanks!

I haven't been up there, but here's the latest I've heard:

It sounds like things have slowed down a little bit, not too bad. Guys are pulling them on crankbaits in 10 - 14 FOW and Lindy Rigging on deeper rocks points and other structure. Leaches seem to be working pretty good, but no real big difference between baits.

Some guys are also having good luck sitting on top a rock pile and fishing the break or the drop off with lead heads...

Salmo Hornets are HOT!

Try casting a #5 up shallow if they are in/on the rocks.

A tip that is hot is running a #4 Hornet behind a 5' leader behind a 1oz bottom bouncer. Colors vary from day to day but Blue Dace and Black/Gold have been especially productive. The chart/grean is good too as is the Pearl/Pink/org in 5's and 4's.
