Correct Gap on Points

Keith_MN

Question

I have an mid-70s Mercury 110 (9.8 horse) outboard.

Recently it has started to misfire badly when accelerating when the engine is warm. I'm pretty sure I have a coil going bad. So I figure I'm long over due to do some basic maintenance on it. So in addition to replacing the the coils I'm figuring I should replace the points and condenser. (PS I just replaced the plugs and I have switched them out to make sure that one of the new plugs wasn't causing the problem).

Can anyone tell me what the correct gap on the points is? Or maybe who I should be asking? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't remember out of my head and I don't have a manual anymore but when you buy the points ask the parts guy, they usually tell you the gap on points and plugs.
