fishonnopeoff
What does your GPS EPE average? And what kind is it? Just wondering...Mine H2O and I would say about 20. Is that good?
0 dan2957
From what I understand EPE is how far off your gps is on the map. EPE 20 means your 20 feet off from the real location of the map. The lower the number, the more accurate your gps is at the moment. The best I have seen on my H2O is 20.

0 Whoaru99
My Magellan Meridian Gold reading fluctuates quite a bit when it's not getting WAAS lock. Once the unit locks onto WAAS, the EPE number is replaced by the word "WAAS". Which, I'm given to understand, is supposed to mean about 10 feet or less. Usually, the numbers I see start around 50-60 and then pretty quickly work down to something between 30 and 16, then it usually goes to WAAS shortly thereafter. The total time from power-on to WAAS lock varies, but usually takes not more than a couple minutes. Newer units may be faster to acquire WAAS. 0 fishonnopeoff
Thanks to all the replies. Yeah, I know what it is I was just wondering what others were seeing. BTW WAAS - (Wide Area Augmentation System)A satellite navigation system designed by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to boost the accuracy of GPS satellite navigation. Improvements in accuracy are approximated to be within 7 meters. Note: Currently, WAAS is not fully implemented. It was created for aviation applications. It uses geostationary satellites over the equator, which makes WAAS signals easily blocked in North America by terrain obstructions. Users may experience temporary loss of WAAS support, especially in wooded areas.
