Brake lighting wowes

I am hooking up brake lights on my fishhouse but cant get the running lights to be turned on and then have the blinkers work. Either they will flash right left r,l,r,l. Or the oppsite light will light up slightly. Any one have experiance. Maybe my ground is bad or my plug coming out of the truck is bad. The Big plug to a standard 4 plug.

first thing i'd check would be the ground because 99% of the time that's the problem---- good luck wiring can be a basket case.

Clean up all the ground areas and check bulb sockets and plug for corrosion.Winter moisture and salt eats these alive.

Keep the electric grease in them and covered with a heavy duty balloon or something

Make sure any splices are clean and heat shrunk not taped.

Do you have a newer Ford? There is a couple fuses under the hood, on the driver side. Those are a possible cause. They are labled trailer lights park, left turn, right turn.

L T H I bought a new plug and some Electrical grease. I greased EVERYTHING and ran a ground wire. Now it works perfect. Thanks for the tip
