cedar lake faribault

i have fished it numerous times. A good place to start is with a map. there are some sweet weedlines on that lake. One place i have found to be very productive is the inside of the weedlines around the islands esspecially the big island straight out from the landing. Also there is some good lilly slop on the lake as well. Those are the places i would start and then i would go to docks. There are several docks on that lake that are long and come out into some deeper water and what we have found is that although we don't catch them on the deep side of the dock the long docks provide a travel corridor to the shallows and they tend to produce better shallow water fishing than the deep end. also there are some weeds (milfoil i believe) in between the docks then has produced as well. However they have usually sprayed for the weeds this time of year and now they have turned brown and become less productive because of their Co2 give off. That is all i know, hope this helps. ike

I've fished Cedar many times. Because it is an excellant fishery, fishing pressure can be a problem. I'd think with this hot stretch the submergent vegetation around the island as well as the West end of the lake would produce some nice top water action late evening/early AM. I prefer a more subtle single blade buzzer & a Devil's Horse. Try the areas adjacent to deep water first...hang on! There's some pigs in there!
