My friends have been out on WBL a few times over the last week and they had no success with Muskies. With the higher temps coming, I think it is going to be a slow summer on WBL. I am wondering if we should be fishing the deeper water.

Hey Tom,

Couple options.....wait until fall, or look at night time! wink.gif

I haven't done the night fishing, but I'd sure like to. WBL would be a good learning area, as I know the lake. My goal is to get proficient enough with boat organization & night muskie fishing in general to be able to night fish Mille Lacs.

Maybe the deeper water is holding fish, I'd look in the 20-30 ft range. RKs article a couple weeks ago talked about Ripley's Law, there are some fish that just live shallow! Might hit it early Sat AM, I'll let you know.

Deep water always seems to be a good choice for any species on WBL.

Wont the stable, hot, muggy weather turn those muskies on? Thats what Ive always thought. Well atleast the first big temp drop after the heat should get those fish feeding. Then you just got to be in the right place and the right time.
