New to Devils Lake

Headed to Devils Lake for the first time and it looks like the temperatures are going to be unbearably hot. Anybody out there have any ideas about where to start looking for the walleyes?

I'd still probably try and hit the road beds and see if you mark anything or catch anything and then start heading deeper....

Psst! Check my other report post on here. Are you shore fishing or boat fishing? Weather is going to play a big factor in your success. Try fishing light wind blown rocky shorelines and sunken wooded areas. Access points are a good spot also. Fish Hwy 19 area. Fishing patterns can change totally in one day. The fish might be there and gone the next day.

We had better luck bottom jigging & slip bobbing. Leeches are a must in your arsenal. Buy a few dozen before you head out, if not then get it at Walmart in Devils Lake. Their pricey at the bait shops, cheaper at Wally world.
