Devils Lake fishing report update 7-3-06

Recommended Posts

I spent the last 3 days fishing Devils lake. We did real well in Six Mile Bay, Graham Islands, Black Tiger Bay.

Best spots were along highway 19, Channel A, Black Tiger Bay. I have concluded that windy condition highly affected our fishing success and patterns. Presentation was most important. We did not do well on artificial lures, crank baits, Rapalas, jigs etc. It was all live bait. Leeches for the Walleyes, Fatheads for White Bass & Pike.

Light windy shorelines were best for Walleyes & Bass. Most fish we caught were at 15ft dept or shallower. We easily caught our limit of Walleyes those last three days. Morning and Evening hours were best bites.

Water is murky and green some areas do the summer algae growths. Real weedy in shallow areas. Again fish windy shorlines. That is the key.
