Economy Seat Pedestal???

Has anybody ever used the economy seat pedestal that is sold at cabelas and bass pro. It is a steel post with square mounts. Looks simple and much cheaper than the aluminum sets. Just wondering if they would be worth trying or should I just bite the bullet and buy some aluminum pedestals. Thanks

I had a pedestal similar to that years ago in a boat that had only 1 pedestal seat, it worked fine.

One thing to realize is that it is not movable to other locations (most pedestals available are movable to other pedestal bases, this one mounts permanently to the floor so it can't be moved). Another thing to realize is that it won't be as soft as an air ride or gas piston pedestal. If none of that is a problem for you, then go for it. Good luck.

I installed two of them a couple of years ago on a pontoon boat. They work fine and have held up with no problems. I got them at Fleet Farm.
