Turtle Trapping???

Recommended Posts

I don't think so. Read page 71 of the Minnesota fishing regulations. It says nothing about trapping. I quit trapping many years ago. It is was still legal, I would be trapping like before. Check with the DNR, but I think you are going to find you can't trap.

Encountered a big snapper last night on the way home, her shell was probably 15 inches across and all covered with green gunk. Had to stop and look at her and torment her with a dog leash. She actually stood up high and started toward me. Not too many predators besides man are going to do her in!

I also called the DNR in St Paul. It is legal to trap snappers after July lst, however you need a license. That is $25.00, and only 3 in posession. Page 71 doesn't address the issue of trapping. I'm glad you brought up this question. Now I am going to get a license and go back to the place I used to trap 26 years ago.
