campgrounds by Gull lake

Are there any campgrounds on gull lake or near by for tenting? Will be coming up Sept. 1 thru labor day but everything seems to be cabins only resorts.

I would seriously checkout the Army Corps of Engineers campground, on Gull Lake. I'm sure it's just like the Big Sandy campground which is awesome.

And, why can't you make reservations there?

Campsites may be reserved for occupancy between May 1 and September 30

They only reserve a percentage of sites there. They are and those are filled already. I have already called there and that is what I was told.

I assume I'm wrong here but I heard that due to DNR cuts that particular campground wasn't open??? Must have heard wrong.
