DrCal
I have fished Lac Seul in August many times and had great success. I usually pull or drift crwaler/spinner harnesses over breaks. Should I expect to change my tactics in Mid July? We will be fishing the south east side near Vaughan Lake. Any help would be most apreciated. iffwalleyes
When are you going to be up there. I have a group heading to that area the last week of July. The guy that told me about this area only fishs with jigs. I am making lots of jigs to have along. He said they just drift along shorelines and points and have had great luck with that. DrCal
We will be up on lac Seul 7/14 to 7/18. What does your friend suggest tipping a jig with? Sizes? Colors? Depths? We usually use spinners with crawler harnesses and bottom bouncers.
iffwalleyes
He said that in the past they have had luck on everything. He usually brings some salted shinners up, crawlers, and then once in canada they get some leeches. He said last year he tried Gulp after he ran out of minneows and they pounded them as well. Sizes of jigs I have a wide selection the lightest I will use is 1/4 oz and I have them all the way up to 3/4 oz. A variety of colors althought he said bright are better. So I have allot of white, chartruses, and Pink for the trip. Depths will just depend where you find them I would guess they will be in the 18' area by the end of July but you never know till you start fishing. He said they usually drift over points and work the depth till they find some.
