oil to gas ratio

i cant remember what the mix is for my motor that i havent used in a few years. its a 5hp volvo penta. anyone know what it might be? thanks, darren

It will depend on how old it is. My older ones take the 50:1, newer ones and some of the yamahas take 100:1.

my guess is its from the late 80s to early 90s

50:1 would be a safe bet till you can get the exact answer from a dealer. The worst you'll do if its too much oil is foul a plug or two.
