My yard is full of ants! Is this a sucessful year for them? Our whole neighborhood seems to have this issue. What is the best method to get rid of them? My two year old daughter can only get so many with her magnifying glass...HELP!

I've fought similar issue for the past 5 years. I heard a radio commercial for Ortho. Home Depot had a bag large enough to cover my yard for $20. My wife commented to me last night that the Ortho really works. Have not had 1 in the house. I think I put it on about a month ago.

Just set your spreader, and then give a good soaking of 1/2" of water. I mowed the lawn pretty short before spreading the Ortho.

I'd give it a shot.

Best way was mentioned, get a granular insecticide designed for lawns. Spread it at the recommended rate and you should be in business.

Ants do well in dry conditions and we had some very long dry spells this spring.

if you do not want to go out and buy stuff you can pour boiling water down the hills as the water will run through out the tunnels and eventually get to the queen which is who you need to get rid of to get rid of them.

Broncs.

I bought the Ortho Max Home Defense in both the granular and liquid forms. I'll apply the granular and water the yard tonight. The liquid will be applied around the perimeter of the house. Thank you for your suggestions!
