My bro is coming up from verm this weekend, and he wants to fish reetz. One of the few lakes around here that I've never been on, honestly. Saw a few boats out there last weekend, anyone heard a report? Have experience that they'd like to share?

Anyone heard anything else from in the area?

Thanks,

Dusty

Hey Dusty-

Reetz is one of my favorites when I visit NE SD. On our last trip (June 2-4th) we fished it with some success. I can't say the fishing has ever been "fast and furious" for us there, but when you catch fish, they're usually really nice. 5+ lb fish can be CPR'd on this lake. I fish in the typical hotspot areas you find on a flooded SD lake.

For those of you that are not familiar with Reetz, be aware that it is a SD trophy lake. Only one eye can be taken home and it must be over 28" long. In other words, don't plan on bringing a meal home.

Thanks man, I figured I'd treat it that way, but having never been on it, I don't want to go up there on a whim when I only have a half day to fish and my bro is with, he doesn't get out in a boat much. As busy as I've been this summer, I haven't had mine out since early may, it sucks.

I was planning on headed that way this weekend also, maybe trying the Reetz, Horseshoe, Antelope circle. I havent been on Reetz this year yet but we'ver always had pretty good luck either Crankin or pulling spinners along the trees. I myself have never got a 28'' out of there but alot 25-27''ers, its a real fun place to fish if ya wanna just target large eyes!

Thanks for the info. I'll be there sunday afternoon/evening I'm sure. I just noticed you're from watertown. Me too. Maybe we know each other?

I have a 93 warrior 166 tiller, if you're up that way, wave if you see us.

Maybe we do, who knows?? I think im gonna start at Antelope sat. morning after i get out of work, should be done by 9:30-10 i hope should put me on the water about 11 and a fish on at approximately 11:08. If that dont pan out ill jump from lake to lake in hopes of finding some cooperative fish. I'll be running in a 97' Sylvan Tiller, tan with maroon pin stripes. Good luck to ya!!
