If you are storing inside it should not be a problem.

If you are storing outside, I would recommend wrapping the trasducer. Extreme cold overnight temps followed by the sun hitting the transducer or quick morning warm ups can cause a rapid temp change that separates the internal elements and causes transducer failure the following spring. I've had this happen to my Pinpoint locators.
