Moosehorn vs. chamberlain narrows

Recommended Posts

we are going to Moosehorn lodge ( which i do not know where on lac seul it is located) to fish on Lac Seul..we have had very good fishing last year but I am wondering where Chamberlain Narrows is from moosehorn...is it worth the boat ride to get there...we have 150 hp ...we fish a lot of pine point and wondering how far the narrows is from there. Also is the area around moosehorn considered good compared to other areas. We seem to get good numbers of walleye but size is just okay...small northern...good smallmouth but we usually go to big V. for smallies..and good muskie..please let a new member know..thanks csuram

moosehorn is not actually on Lac Seul it is on Abrams I believe. They do fish Lac suel though a lot, we see there guide boats making runs all over the east side of LS. I would say Chamberlain would be about a 1 hour 20 min boat ride from their lodge going at a 35-40 mile-an-hour clip. There is definitely great fishing near chamberlain but I would only go there if I were you if you were really struggling to catch fish on waters more near to camp. IF you do make the trip you will be rewarded though. good luck

Moosehorn is actually on Pelican very near Abrams. I would agree it would be about hour and a half at a 40 mph clip. We will be taking a houseboat up past Chamberlain this year but have stayed at Moosehorn a couple of times. We have never found a need to go to Lac Suel to catch walleyes when at Moosehorn. We always caught more than our fill of walleyes with no more than a 25 min. ride into Minnitaki with a 50HP motor. Might be a different story to get into some Muskies though.

We don't target northerns much but we have hooked into plenty of 32" to 38" fishing for walleyes on Minnitaki. When we have went after them we caught as many smallmouth as we have pike. The smallies were huge but we did not get into any monster pike.

I can't find anything on my map of that end of Lac Seul called Pine Point. Could it be Pine Island?

I am sorry it is pine island....any others have ideas as to where we can go to get into monster pike ...even if we have to portage in or a short drive from moosehorn...thanks
