Busch race

Recommended Posts

Like I said in the other thread, the teams complaining about the "buschwackers" don't really have anything to complain about now, do they. That team did a really nice job and he was strong all night long.

I thought he was done after that first pit stop. They lost a ton of spots there, but he just kept chipping away all night.

Unfortunately, its a real anomoly that a non-Cup team can pull that off, so I think the concern of the others is still valid. They could do that once, but consistently? I don't think so!!!

I agree with Lawdog,as it was great that he won the race but it might be a long time again before a non-cup driver wins anotherr Busch race.

When you factor in the skill, experience and dollars the Cup teams have it is hard for the other teams to compete.Look at the lead that Harvick has.

When you have 6-8 cup teams running in a Busch race, one team for sure is going to hit the set-up close to perfect and with the good pit crews they have a Busch team has to do it all perfect and then also have alot of luck.

When we go Modified racing at some tracks with the boys that have been doing it for 20 years,it is very diffucult for us to make the top five. They are just that skilled and knowledgable. We can learn alot racing agaisnt them, but for us to win is a very tall order. But you do keep trying.

Oh, I agree with both of you and I seriously doubt that a non cup connected team will win another race this year, but my point is that the teams like Fitzbradshaw that do most of the complaining that they cant compete with the cup connected teams (and that part is true) but it also showed that the got beat by a non cup connected, single car part time team driven by a rookie in his 7th (I think) Busch race. Yes, the stars, moon and the rings around uranus all lined up perfectly for this to happen but what it boils down to is they got beat by a "lesser" team. Before you can really complain about getting beat by the buschwackers, don't you have to be at the top of the "also ran" pile?

It's great that he won but I don't think you can say with confidence that the busch-wackers can be beat on any consistant basis. It's the first time in how many races?? Sure they can be beat....anybody can win on any given night, but I'll play the odds all day long and have a thicker wallet at the end of it.

It's almost like playing Russian Roulette and not getting blasted on the first pull of the trigger and then saying, "see, nothing to be afraid of." Play enough and that loaded chamber is going to come around sooner or later. Until you can pull that trigger six times with no consequences, it is impossible to claim that it's safe with any certainty.

So to say that they have nothing to complain about...eeeh, I'm not so sure of that. They're dry firing five blanks before a non busch-wacker finally loads a shell.

I can see if he would have won on a fuel millage race or on pit stratagy but he flat outran all the the cars. Period. Sure, maybe if Edwards hadn't of broke we wouldn't be talking about this but that cat simply outran the entire field, in a underfunded part time team, with Rusty's old crewchief and Jerry Nadue as the coach.
