LCX X26 Losing Sonar Reading

JDP

Question

I have installed a new Lowrance LCX X26 on a Lund 1850 Tyee.

I am losing my sonar reading at about 24 miles per hour.

I have tried 2 different mounting locations and many different positions at each location with no real improvement.

I called Lowrance yesterday, they are sending me a chip with the 1.4.0 software update.

Does anyone have any suggesstions, do you believe the software update will solve the problem. confused.gif

Thanks in advance.

I do not think that the software upgrade will help with the reading. I would try relocating the sonar again. A possible solution is to buy a suction cup mount (8.99), and try adjusting it until you find a spot that will work at faster speeds, then mount it when you find a good spot.

Tried the suction cup mount.

It proved that my transducer was BAD.

Bought a new transducer, beautiful performance!

Thanks again stellarfisher. smile.gif

I hooked up another transducer that I knew was perfoming well to the suction cup bracket. Just ran the transducer cable (of the "good transducer") over the transon to the head of the X-26 on the dash. The x-26 started to perform much better immediately. smile.gif
