Gissert
I am a big fan of Otter Outdoors fishouses, so when I saw the new SR series trailers, I had to get one. I received it last December, so I did not get a chance to really work it out until this spring. I have been very happy, and keep finding more uses for it. This is no run of the mill metal ATV trailer. It flat outhauls everything else I have ever used. My model has a 1500 pound capacity, and torsion axels. It tracks very nicely with a load, with none of the bouncing around that solid axles tend to do. It also has a tilt tongue, and swivels when tilted. The box is the same rugged construction that the Otter fish house tubs are famous for. I had to move a woodpile this spring that was flooding out. I spilt it where it laid, and then hauled it to the new location with the trailer. This is a wet, heavy load of oak. After all the wood had been moved, I had a few loads of wet bark and mud. This stuff was REALLY heavy, and I am sure I exceeded 1500 pounds easily. The trailer handled it with ease, though the 4 wheeler strained going up hills. I had a few cave in spots in the yard caused from beavers and muskrats. I can no longer get my truck safely in that part of my yard, but I wanted to fill in the giant holes up. Cue the trailer and the 4 wheeler again. This is a load of black dirt mixed with peat. It is wet and very heavy. My truck is a 3/4 ton Dodge, and that load pretty much had the springs flat. I was able to move the entire load in four trips with the trailer. Beats the heck out of a wheelbarrow! I heartily endorse this trailer, and I have two neighbors thinking of buying one, along with a couple friends who farm.
Mark Christianson
I have plans forming in my head to get the same thing this fall!Impressive, and that just sealed the deal for me!
ChuckN
I have looked at Gissert's trailer and it certainly is extremely durable and handy for those heavy loads in tight spots. I cut and haul a lot of firewood, and in the winter I love my Otter sled, but in the spring and fall I need a trailer to manuver through the woods. I also see it very functional for early and late ice fishing trips to haul gear, and not to mention it could come in handy for field hunting fowl! Thanks for reminding me I need to buy this trailer sooner than I thought!!

ChuckN
As my friend stated this past weekend while hunting in North Dakota for snow geese..."This is not a trip to field test our equipment, it's a trip to try to kill it". I laughed, and could not disagree. It was 4 days of the worst conditions I have ever experienced with an ATV and use of my Otter SR trailer. We used this combo to transport 4 guys, field blinds, 500 various decoys, our kill and misc gear in and out of the worst field conditions as rain poured and the frost went out of the ground. If you are a field hunter, ATV owner, and want to get all the gear out efficiently where many hunters don't dare go, you will love this Otter trailer. It made the hunt sooo much easier. Ray Esboldt
I don't know, Chuck. Looks kind of fun to me. Does Otter stuff ever break? I was thinking about that the other day. I have yet to break or wear anything out from Otter. I suppose it's now a cinch that mice will consume the canvas on both my ice houses this summer.
