Cooking up some walleye this weekend. Gonna try a few different recipes. Anyone have any favorite side dishes they like with fried fish?

Twice Fried Potatoes....and Coleslaw..and Fried fish....cant get much better than that

Wild rice is great also - tons of hot dish and "plain" recipes out there. My favorite is to fry up some bacon and onion and add it to half-cooked rice, and finish the cooking either in the oven or microwave by adding some water.

An easy one is canned wildrice with sausage and mushrooms.

1lb pork sausage -browned

2 cans mushrooms added to pork

2 cans wildrice added to pork and mushrooms

season to taste
