Wild Thing
Canada is a country and each province, like our states, have different game laws. They dont' have a federal deer license. In Ontario, the non resident deer license is $180 Canadian, so about $160 U.S. right now. You can hunt anywhere you want, with permission on private property or anywhere on crown land. Much of the "bush'' is crown or federal timber land. Get a map that shows the ownership difference. Exception: There is a large area near the Minnesota border, from Rainy Lake are to Lake of the Woods, where Ontario requires non residents to have a licensed guide for deer. You can opt to hunt out of that area or find a resident to buy a cheap guide license and be your guide. The Ontario seasons start Oct. 7 or 28 depending on where you hunt. It's mostly bucks only for non residents, but some antlerless permits may be available in August. Good luck. Lots of big bucks up there.
