power worms

Recommended Posts

what is the smallest size power worm you would use if you were targeting pike. keep in mind the areas i will probably be headed arent known for large pike, just some small to medium sized. maybe 15-25 inches or so.

I have worms...

...down to three inches (walleye stuff I never use) that I put on a carolina rig. Sometimes if the fish are turned off from a weather front or just plain lazy my first step to triggering them is downsizing and slowing down. A slow moving three inch worm is a pretty easy target for a pike to snatch up.

You have it down, just plastics are very underused for pike and musky.

I'm going to put on a seminar in the north metro area in June discussing some of the tactics and tricks for using plastics when targeting musky and pike. I will also go into tricking out blade baits such Mepps Bucktails with plastics to give them a little more movement and a different action. As soon as I have a date and time I will post the info so you guys can come heckle me. laugh.gif
