Trolling Dt's

Can you troll with the Dt Rapala's? i dont bass fish much so i dont want to spend the money on them to try it out for trolling suspended eyes if it wont work,

I dont see why not. You can troll almost any sticks.

I have a couple of the DT's - a 10 and a 16. They definitely can be trolled and seem to run pretty true to their depth numbers. I was out a few weeks ago doing some speed trolling with the DT10. It bounced off the bottom every time I got in below 12 feet. I figure it ran deeper than 10 as we were trolling fast and I had small diameter spider wire. Last weekend when trolling slower it seemed to bounce off the bottom between 10 and 11 feet.

Very tight and strong action on the DTs, but did manage to pull in about 3 pike in about 20 minutes.

If you want to get deep, they make it pretty easy.

With 3 lb diameter 15 lb strength Power Pro line I get 21 feet down with a DT16 trolling at 2 mph. These DT's will bend your rod over though. I'd recommend using a rod rated for at least a one full oz lure weight.
