Sony T9 or Canon sd700 is

I am trying to decide between the Sony T9 or the Canon SD700 IS. Does anyone have any of these two cameras and how well do they work in low light? Does the image stabalizer really help? I have kids and would like a nice compact camera I could slip in a pocket.

I don't know either of those two models. I am a Canon DSLR shooter, however, who has found the image stabilization is a great way to get sharp images in low light or other bad conditions.
