shamalex72
Sounds like a great trip. One time we went up for the opener and was so cold and rainy my brother-in-law said never again. We usually make it up there once a year over the 4th of July, still undecided about this year.
hooked2000
What part of Canada are you going to? We go to LOTW every year for a week in July, the northwest angle, it is gods country. Nothing better, except for the Indianapolis 500.

Down Deep
Caliper was the first lake I ever fished in Canada some 25 years ago. It too was a father and son trip with me being the son. We were supposed to fly out of Caliper Lake Resort and got stuck for a day because of rain and fog. We caught lots of Pike and found one big load of crappies. Enjoy these trips and go as often as possible as time marches on and then one day dad can't go, but the memories live on.
primetime49
Its impressive to see that people are referring to Canadian fishing opener as in the past two years I have had Two parties refer to why they could not do things for me in early May as they were going to canada fishing and being we keep a camper up there we knew we were being stiffed .hope you two are reading this. onemore
For a minute I thought my Dad had posted this. We go on a father/son/brother-inlaw fishing trip every June into Ontario. We come back to Minnesota spoiled for the season. It is the highlight of every spring. Amongst other things my Dad will usually call out "God's Country." It's particuarily fitting while golden sun sits low in the sky and all rods in the boat are bent over and bobbing. Each in turn, a golden shimmerin walleye comes up through the stained water playing on the end of each line.
