maybe i shouldn't start this but...was reading on another site about the wolves around yellowstone. Is there many wolves in montana? (outside park) What do you guys think about their seemingly over-abundance?

verg They are pretty much in the western part on Monatan. They have caused some problems for the ranchers that are close to Yellowstone Park and that region. The old timers here say that you should shoot, shovel and shutup. Kind of explains what they think here. CAJ

The western landscape is changing once again, at the hands of non-westerners. I hope I neverfind myself in the situation my pal Steve found himself in. Thankfully, I was already back at camp!

Wolves have been re-introduced in the area and did not get along very well with ranchers, especially when you start loosing a lot of cattle (it's open range there, not like MN where everything is fenced in) and sheep. The "rule of the 3 S" it's been around for many years....
