JJJ
For those of you who own one give me your opinion on how well it tracks the depth when trolling and casting. Also can you have your trolling motor down and your tiller motor down at the same time and have your tiller do most of the work while the trolling motor tracks the depth? Any other info you would like to add would be appreciated. I'm looking at the 82lb 24volt model. Thanks
castmaster
i cant comment on he newer pts-v's, but i have an original pinpoint brand motor, and it wont work to use it to track the depth while powering with your tiller.in fact, if the tiller isnt set straight it will affect the way the pinpoint oeprates.as for how they track depth etc, its so so. if there is a nice clearly defined breakline it will track wonderfully. if its a breakline that flattens out in spots they tend to lose their place at tiems and start spinning in circles trying to find the edge.i believe the new pts-v's are a better motor, but i think they still run into some of the same issues.that being said, when my pinpoint finally peters out it will be replaced with a pts-v!
