trolling motor fuse

Okay, I was rereading my booklet from Minnkota about installing the trolling motor and no mention is made of a fuse, Now I look at the warning tag on the motor and it says you need to use a 50 amp manual reset fuse....why wouldn't they include this with the motor, or tell me how to install that 50 amp fuse? I have spent enough (read hydroelectric power plant) money on this trolling motor, and now I need to buy more stuff????

Okay enough venting, I need help with this, how do I install the fuse and where do I find one?

My advise...forget the fuse and go buy a 40-50 amp breaker from Fleet Farm...Nicest part is that if the breaker ever trips it resets itself and you are back in business without doing a thing...fuses were a pain in my butt until i broke one and didn't have any spares. The best alternative is a breaker, you won't regret purchasing one!

How do I wire it? Line from the battery to the hot side of the circuit breaker and then the wire to the motor on the open side of the switch?

The circuit breaker actually crimps right on to the end of the hot...red...positive wire going to the battery from the trolling motor or plug... The circuit breaker actually is actually connected directly to the battery post. I followed the directions and have had this setup running for 2 years without issue! BTW the name brand that FF sells is branded RIGRITE and you can find them right by the Trolling Motors for anywhere from $8-10.

If you need more into please let me know...there may be some others carrying the same unit...they make both 40 and 50 amp units...
