MM, you should be seeing lots of stuff. Look for yellow-rumped warblers, the first warblers generally that start moving north. But even if they're not up yet, there should be tons of sparrow species moving through and all kinds of other stuff. Why you're not seeing stuff, I don't know. Keep looking. Best hint I can give you is walk less, sit more. Find a place with nice edges of trees, river, grass, and plant yourself. Spring birds are active birds, and if you're in a good location you'll start seeing birds. As always, the first hour after sunup is prime time for birds, which have been roosting all night and want to get out and get going. Next couple weeks should be pretty good where you are.

i must have been a few days early. but you nailed it! saw a bunch of yellow rumped warblers today. banana.gif

they were in the spots i have been watching for a few weeks,so they must just now be showing up. my book shows all kind of warblers that come thru and stay here in the summer-cerulean[sp?] and many yellow varieties. whats a good web site to track migration,pictures,etc? thanks steve.MM
